Hi ,
Thanks so much for
clicking on this email. 💖
At the moment, I am powering through lots of additional learning. 🤓
This is in the areas of clinical (Speechie-related), mindset and business.
At the moment, with little effort, I would smash through about 4+ hours of extra learning each week.Β Β
HOW?????
& no, itβs not in the evenings or spending my entire weekend learning.
I wanted to share this with you as I live a really busy life. 👩β💻 📲 👫 🏖 βοΈ
I run 2 businesses so thereβs a lot of backend admin for them.
I have my clinical work & mentoring so thatβs a full time load.
& I donβt want to spend my weekends or weeknights doing ANYTHING but relaxing, spending time with Paul, my family and my friends

1. I focused firstly on how I can learn
🤩 Books and articles 🤩 Podcasts & audio 🤩 Webinars and self paced courses 🤩 Live PDβs
2. Then I thought about which of these I enjoyed and where
e.g. I love listening to podcasts and audiobooks in the car or when I go for a walk in the morningΒ 🎧 🏃ββοΈ
3. Then I scheduled them into my week 📲 What does this look like? Iβm glad you asked
📆
Monday to Friday - podcast on my morning walk - 20 mins each morning 📆 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - podcast on the way to the office or home/school visitΒ - minimum 30mins /day 📆
Thursday - 1 hour of online learning (webinar)
I can also add a book into this mix - 5 mins of reading in the mornings which adds up quickly.
β¨ So
work out all the ways you have access to getting more quality learning into your life, not just clinical skills but also life skills (e.g. managing your money, mindset life admin hacks, investing, learning a completely new skill)
β¨ Look at your week and work out how you can do more incidental learning as well as 1-2 dedicated hours to get upskilled.
|
|
|
|
2 hours of learning each week = 104 hours per year.
5 hours of learning each week = 260 hours per yearΒ Β
BUT more importantly it equals a smart YOU.
A you thatβs invested time in your upskilling so that you are more employable, have an increased capacity to earn and are setting yourself up for success EVERY WEEK.
If youβve found this useful - please forward this on to a friend who is struggling with fitting in PD.
& as always send me an email or a DM @thespeechielife_ and let me know which tips you're going to try. I would love to know 💖
