Hi ,
Thanks so much for clicking on this email. 💖
Happy Saturday, Happy April and if you are lucky enough, happy school holidays.
I know we are here to talk about what I have loved using in March but before I do that, I wanted to let you know that the Writing Protocol and Balcony Time I mentioned in the previous 2 emails are still going strong. ✍️🤩
Despite my need to add new shiny balls to distract me, keeping to ‘tried and true supports’ also helps me hugely to stay on track, stay calm and grounded.
So what have I loved in March? I am so glad you asked.
It’s using AI to simplify my life, speed up tasks, and stop procrastination.
Why AI? 🤖
Well, because it is everywhere and growing by the second. It’s not a fad. It’s not going to disappear. It’s here to stay and unfortunately, if you don’t get on board with it, you will get left behind.
Also, most AI is created by
men and used by men and I would like to change that. Speech Pathology is predominantly made up of females so if we all start to use it, we can slowly tip the scales. 👩🏽💻⚖️
Now before I go on, I have to say that the key to using AI successfully is understanding how to prompt it correctly. If you have tried it and it hasn’t worked, it’s because the prompts you are using aren’t clear or concise enough.
So what AI have I been using?
My two at the moment are Gemini and Everbility.

Gemini ✨
Gemini is great for everything that ChatGPT does and more. It works live off the internet (unlike the free ChatGPT which works off data from September 2022 and older). I use Gemini to:
- Help me with parts of my NDIS reports
- Create handouts
- Create activities
- Generate stories (based on interests, reading age and page length) and then comprehension questions to use with the story
- Generate home practise ideas
- Create reels, posts and carousels for Instagram
- Generate blog and email headings
- Repurpose my content for Linkedin
- Help me with SEO keywords
- Give me definitions, websites, apps etc
The best part - this is the very tip of the iceberg. In fact, I asked Gemini what we, as Speechies can use it for and here were the main areas;- Therapy Planning and Materials
- Assessment and Data Analysis
- Communication and Collaboration (including reports, letters, scheduling etc)
- Student Engagement and Activities (including custom songs, interactive games, social stories, picture communication tools etc)
- Continuing Education and Research
- Admin tasks
Even I was blown away by the list it generated!
Gemini has a free version. You can upgrade to the paid version which
will can generate images as well.

Everbility ✨
The other AI software I have been playing with is Everbility. It’s been created by an OT (Angela) and her husband who is a software engineer. The best part? It is Australian and created for therapists by a therapist. 👩💼🇦🇺
Again, you will have to take the time to learn it, but you can speak out your therapy notes, create your templates which the AI can use, generate letters, emails, reports and most likely anything else you want. It’s end to end encrypted so you can add client files safely which the AI can then use to create the documents for you.
So imagine, you complete a therapy session, home or school visit. You then voice to text your session information into Everbility. You then choose a progress note template e.g. SOAP notes. The information then gets turned into a progress note which you can cut and paste into your clinical software. You add a second prompt asking it to write it into an email which can then be sent off to the
family. All in a matter of minutes. Before you take in your next client or leave the driveway. Game changer! 🤯🌟
Paul (hubby) is trialling the software as he hates writing progress notes. It’s the bane of his existence and with his ADHD, this type of AI would make his job effortless. For me, I’m still playing around. I don’t mind how I do my progress notes right now but it would be useful for reports. However, working 2 days a week, I can’t yet justify the cost.
If you decide to check out Everbility, book a demo with Angela. She’s absolutely lovely and having the walk-through will definitely help. Then put time aside to get used to the software so that you can get ALL the benefits. 🙌😍

Disclaimer: With all AI, you have to double-check everything as facts can be made up, so think of it as a really good first draft. Don’t trust it blindly but know it can make a huge difference to your to-do list and the amount of time you can claim back.
If you want to use AI but don’t know where to start, then register for my workshop waitlist below. 👩🏫
I will be running an AI workshop that’s super practical, teaching you not only the software but also the prompts to use to get the information you want on the first go. I will be covering the creation of therapy materials, assessment result analysis, report writing, admin tasks, social media posts and so much more. So if this is something you want to get using, jump onto the waitlist.
