Hi ,
Thanks so much for clicking on this email. 💖
Do you have
days when you have ZERO motivation?
I know I do 😭 🫠
They are the complete opposite of the days where I wake up, excited to get started and I feel I am fully βswitched onβ.
When I am feeling unmotivated...
👉 I am slow and sluggish 🐌 👉 My anxiety kicks in 😫 👉 & I just want to stay in bed all day 🛌
Is that the same for
you?
|

|
|
So if you feel like this, I wanted to share what helps me through days like this.
I know - you are going to think I am going to say "be compassionate with yourself" 🙄 and yes - of course be that, but letβs get into what I ACTUALLY do.
👇
#1 I rely on my automatic habits. Exercise, breakfast, what I am wearing, what I need packed in my bag. All of these are automatic for me. So no thought is required. This means less effort, less mistakes and more ease, especially on days when Iβm struggling.Β 🏋οΈββοΈ🥯 βοΈ
#2 I look at my day and re-organise it into what is a non-negiotable and what can be pushed back. Then I communicate this. That way no one is
disappointed, let down and I can feel on top of what I need to do. This adds to my confidence and gives me control back over my day. 📆 📝
#3 If I am with other staff, I let them know Iβm just not feeling 100% myself. Just so that they can check in and also so that they know me being βflatβ has nothing to do with them. I do this to avoid any misunderstandings and to give myself permission to ask for what I need.Β 👩β💻 🤩
#4 Then I get what needs done, done. I have clients relying on me. I have parents relying on me. I have mentees relying on me. So I show up and do the work because itβs part
of my values to empower and ensure my clients, families and mentees are successful. I can do this because I have created space, given myself time and have been realistic about what I can get throughΒ 💪 β°
By working this way, I can practise being ok
with low-motivation days.
I can accept them as a completely normal part of my human experience.
I can still be successful.
& I can put it into perspective - itβs ONE DAY not my entire week, month or year.

|
|
|
BUT if you are feeling low motivation for days/weeks/months - please know that is different and you need to seek help.
If youβve found this useful - please forward this onto a friend who is struggling with
motivation.
& as always send me an email or a DM @thespeechielife_ and let me know if this email has helped you. I would love to know 💖
